After dragging myself home and falling on the couch, I realized that not only was it Friday, but it was FRIDAY! This school and blog thing are going to have to learn to live with one another:)
So I am a little late to the Doodle Bugs Five for Friday linky party, but I am here! Hold on and keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, because these are really random!
1. Ever since I made the jump over to Bloglovin' vampires have been stalking me! Has this happened to anyone else?
And I may have attended too many Jimmy Buffett concerts in my youth, because I just want to "dance to the left, dance the right" whenever I see that (see arrow) in my stats. Is that a real search engine or site? Or is it an evil robot?
2. I got another grand-student this week. First day, this adorable kid raises his hand and tells me that his mom was a student of mine. To be fair to him, I had just asked the class if I had had any of their siblings in my class. I wish I could blame it on teenage moms and society going down hill, but I did the math and I am pretty sure she took the more conservative and traditional route. She was a wonderful girl, and one of my all time favorites. Sent a note home in his Agenda thanking her for letting me have him this year, and told her that I was proud of her for raising such a great kid. He is a pure delight! But basically, it means that I am not getting any younger.
3. Out of sensitivity to my wonderful followers, I will not post pictures of Maddie, aka "Frankendog." She is doing very well, and despite her MANY stitches she is trying to jump up on anything not barricaded. My house looks like an American Ninja Warrior course, and I can't get up enough energy to really care.
4. I tried out one of my first purchases from Teachers Pay Teachers today.
It is from Upper Grades Are Awesome, and I think it might just be an awesome warm-up for my class! The kids loved doing it, and I am committed to using it at least for the first quarter. I will let you know more as the quarter progress, but I am really liking it after today!
5. Next week, I have to remember to wear my FitBit. My feet are telling me that I put in a lot walking these last few days, and I like to get credit for those miles. One of my principals once told me that she could tell a great teacher from a bad teacher by comparing their pedometers. She said that a great teacher "walked the lessons" and rarely sat down during the day. Wearing my FitBit reminds me to keep moving during the day and "walk the lessons" (and it wouldn't hurt the size of my backside either).
It is 7:02p.m. And like any teacher in the first week of school, I have officially run out of steam and will be heading to bed shortly! Night all!
Hi! I'm stopping by from Five for Friday! I've also been wondering about vampirestat. If you figure it out, I'd love to know. :) Have a great year!

What kind of FitBit do you have? I've got the flex and am really curious how many steps I'll get during the day once school starts!
