Listening
I am a serious Amy fan! That girl and I have been through a lot together, and we haven't ever actually met (but if we did, I am sure we would be best friends:). This year has not been easy, so when her release date for How Mercy Looks From Here was announced I told myself that I could hang on just a few more months
Loving
As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I lost my father a little over a year ago. Earlier in the year, I was still stuck in the emotional routine of running out the door of my classroom. Finally, I have been able to slow down, do what I need to do, what I want to do in the classroom. It finally feels good to putter around and play in my classroom.
Thinking
Trying to find the energy to do much of anything has been difficult this year. Grief will do that to you:( No guilt there, you just have to be in moment and ride it out. Now that I am waking up, I am discovering that my backyard looks like the forest surrounding Sleeping Beauty's castle. There is no Prince Charming in sight (I've looked), so it is just me. Maybe Prince Charming is trapped in the overgrowth on my slope...
Wanting
This one needs no explaining, it is vacation:) But I my body is still on work schedule! Let me go back to sleep, just for a while?
Needing
After the yard is hacked back in to submission, I need to get the house finished. I do not do well when my life is in boxes. The good thing is that when it is all over I will have a beautiful new roomy office/sewing room and a workout room. But it NEEDS to get done! Enough of the boxes!
3 Vacay Essentials
Rest! I need to let my body rest and get my head in a good place before going back to school in August. As for fun, I am going to visit with family, go see some movies (in a real theater - it has been a while), lunch and shopping with friends. And a ROAD TRIP is an absolute! Hopefully, my sister-in-law and I will be on the road to San Antonio before too long. Love Texas!
Now, I can hardly wait to go over to Oh' Boy Fourth Grade and see what other people are doing this month! And then I really have to get out in that backyard...
I'm like you in that this year, I finally decided to slow down and enjoy my classroom! Instead of running out at the 3:30 bell, I started staying late and doing things that I WANTED to do!
ReplyDeleteTake a vacation and enjoy your summer time off! It sounds like you need it! :)

So sorry about your Dad. Do lots of fun stuff this summer and enjoy your road trip to Texas!
ReplyDeleteLove San Antonio! My husband has to go there for work pretty often, so we always tag along once or twice in the summer time. He works, we play. Have fun on your trip!

I Teach. What's Your Super Power?
Me too! My brother was @ Lackland for several years, and I fell in love with Texas. We both bought some land out near Medina Lake to hopefully retire on, some day:)
DeleteI hope you find Prince Charming hiding in your backyard! :) I hacked away at my bushes and trees yesterday and feel much better. Have a great week!
